Wicked Wide Web- World Wide Wicked Links

Barb: Alice Munro wins the Nobel Prize! As far as I’m concerned, Munro is the Alice Munrogoddess of literary short fiction. Try to analyze what she does. You can’t. Nobody knows how she packs so much story and character into those tiny packages. Here’s the New York Times article. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/11/books/alice-munro-wins-nobel-prize-in-literature.html?hp&_r=1&

Edith: After that inspiring link from Barb, mine is much more gruesome. But necessary for a writer with a series set on a farm. Hope Clark talks about all the ways someone could die, or be murdered, on a working farm. This is a post I saved. http://chopeclark.com/2013/10/eieio-spells-death/

Sherry: I love interesting words and found this article about weird words. Some days I really wish I had a whiffler. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-forsyth/weird-phrases_b_4018105.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird%20News

Liz: I’m proud to call Emerson my graduate school. This present grad student, Lauren Kay Johnson, is the winner of this year’s Glamour magazine personal essay contest about coming home from Afghanistan and trying to re-adapt to life.

Jessie: I’m certain this isn’t a new link for any of the Wickeds and possibly not for many of our readers but I wanted to give a shout out to National Novel Writing Month, better known as NaNoWriMo, which takes place in November each year. If you’ve ever thought about writing a novel yourself why not seize the day?
