I visited Bab’s Book Bistro and talked about my visit to the Hemingway House in Key West, Florida last year. I talked about how the covers for my books are developed, my mad love for Hemingway’s typewriters and how serendipity converged the two.

Readers: How would you answer the question what is something most people don’t know about you?
That I am incredibly shy around people I don’t know why. After years of working with the public in my local city government, I have learned to hide it, but it’s still there under the surface.
That must be hard!
LOL, I have had to answer that one, too. So I’ll not do it again, but I’ll add something I omitted – I’ve been struck by lightening. Yes, it was a surprise to me too.
Wow, Kait! That must have been scary!
That as a big man that in most situations I like the “kick the tires” on things however I make difficult decisions in about 30 seconds and simply move on.
It’s a great way to move through life!
Being big people have certain assumptions like heavy things are still heavy. You soon realize that when you walk into a room you are noticed because of your size and not who you are. Back in the stone age when I was growing up there weren’t all of these color choices for clothes. They were all solids and you wore what fit not what you liked!
That I was at the Berlin Wall the night that it fell! I was standing right behind Tom Brokaw as he gave the news brief! Very nice man, by the way. I also was almost arrested by the Russian police that night, but that is another story!
What an incredible experience! I want to here the rest of this story!
I am a co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize (along with Al Gore and the other 1900 scientists who were authors on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change reports).

I retired from the Canadian federal government 3 years ago, Sherry, so it doesn’t come up much in conversation! All I got for this honour was a gorgeous wooden plaque and the ability to add this accomplishment as a bullet point in my C.V.
I think I’d have a pin that said Nobel Peace Prize winner so everyone would know. And maybe all my clothes would say the same!
I rode the lead elephant in the opening parade at a circus.
How fun!
Most folks don’t know that hubby and I we have clowned with Emmett Kelly Jr. as well as performed for Governor Huckabee. Yep me in my little clown truck and hubby on an 18 inch motorcycle. We have gotten older and retired our red noses and big shoes plus we have moved so most of the locals have no idea. 🙂

Great blog tour, Sherry. I used to say most people don’t know I’m a second-degree Black belt, but I’ve said it so frequently I think a lot of people know by now.
But most people don’t know I’m a George Strait fan. 🙂

I don’t know how to answer the question about something people don’t know about me. I’m so much of an open book. And since I review just about everything, there really isn’t much that isn’t already out there.

Wow I dont have anything that can compare to the ones I read here. I feel kind of like the quiet child sitting in the corner saying oh yeah and I eat paste, lol. So on that note, I did use to love to eat glue and crayons, ;).

I read the Jungle Red interview; that’s a great hook for the story. Joe Haldeman did a short SF novel, “The Hemingway Hoax,” about the missing manuscript.
I prefer skinny dipping.
