Wickeds, let’s give our readers a sneak peek into one new adventure our characters will get up to in the coming year. No spoilers, of course, but in a 2020-release book, what new challenge, person, or situation will your protagonist meet up with? What will surprise them?
Jessie: In the book that will release in October, my sleuths Beryl and Edwina will find themselves embroiled in a case of national importance. Edwina is rather shocked but Beryl is taking it all in stride.
Liz: In Witch Hunt, the first Full Moon Mystery, Violet Mooney runs into a few witches–which in and of itself is kind of shocking, but when she realizes she’s a witch also, it becomes a whole other story…
Julie: In Digging Up the Remains, which will be out in August, Delia discovers what may be the answers to the bodies found in Alden Park at the end of Tilling the Truth. Which opens up another can of worms entirely.
Barb: In Jane Darrowfield and the Madwoman Next Door, coming in November, a neighbor approaches Jane with a simple request: “I want you to figure out if I’m crazy.”
Sherry: I’m so excited for everyone to meet Chloe Jackson when From Beer to Eternity releases on July 28th! How does a Chicago children’s librarian end up as a waitress in a beach bar? She makes a promise.
Edith/Maddie: I can’t wait to read all these adventures! In Murder at the Taffy Shop, releasing in March, Mac’s parrot Belle helps save her from a killer. Robbie Jordan heads back to Santa Barbara for her tenth high school reunion – and a murder – in Nacho Average Murder, releasing in late June. And Rose Carroll visits West Falmouth on Cape Cod in Taken Too Soon, which will be out in September!

This year for our annual girl’s weekend trip – we are headed to Nashville. It’s fun looking up all the great activities we could do. So far the two things we know we are doing are the Trolley Car tour and a luncheon cruise. Also plan to meet up with authors in the Nashville area.
Sounds great, Dru! I’ve never been to Nashville, TN (as you know, Nashville, IN pops up in the Country Store mysteries).
Can’t wait for ALL of these! I have a couple of trips coming up including a road trip with my hubby to Virginia for the VA Festival of the Book (I’m so excited!) AND we have several home improvement jobs to tackle! My house hasn’t had much done to it in recent years, so I’m looking forward to the updates (and trying not to think about the mess!)

While I’m hoping that my adventure for 2020 is finally attending a book convention/conference, right now it looks like the one “adventure” I’ll actually be involved in is the always thrilling paying of the bills.

In the spring we are taking a trip to Utah to explore the seven national parks there. While I’m sure the time there will be amazing with lots of new things to see and photograph, I’m hoping for some adventures on the trip there as well as the return trip which will be by ways of a different route. Being an old Army brat, traveling when I was a child was you get from point A to point B as quickly as possible with few stops along the way. Now that hubby is retired, we can be the navigators of our desire stopping to see things and taking detours if a sign suggests something down a side road. As a senior citizen, life is an adventure and I want to life it all!

Aaugghh.. I live in a very small town in the Carolinas. Husband recently retired due to medical health-cancer . So our trips are only to the ‘big city’s hospital over 50miles away. Wish I had some thing really cool to say. It’s out walking with our silly Australian Blue Heeler who thinks she is a tiny lap dog and must sit on laps till legs go numb and she has a language of her own responding vocally with the silliest sounds. Even goes to fridge to get ice cubes and water. That’s our holiday 🙂 but after endless days and weeks in hospital home is Fabulous. That’s why reading and books are SO precious.

No plans for an adventure yet. But our goal is to visit more of our state parks. We visited 20 last year! The beauty that these parks have are amazing and some have a lot of history behind them. I do love nature!

Oh, so many more books to add to my TBR list! How exciting. We plan on our annual trip to AZ to visit our daughter and whatever we see along the way. We are really into serendipity so anything is possible. And we are always open to new ideas so adventures are part of our lives.

My new adventure will be turning 50 this summer and hoping to have a draft of my own traditional mystery by my birthday. Also attending Malice Domestic for the first time – I’m sure it will be inspiring!

Those sound like some cool adventures. My protagonists encounter a wide variety of villains, including one who enjoys cracking mirrors. Talk about pressing your luck. Haha. Great post!
