Happy Thursday! Liz here, and I am pleased to announce I was able to spend a few days at the beach – I was starting to worry I wasn’t going to make it there this summer with everything going on. Social distancing prevailed, of course, but it was still awesome. Sharing some of my favorite scenes for your enjoyment.
Readers, any socially-distanced trips to your happy places this summer? Tell us in the comments!
It wasn’t much of a trip, but I’ve had two happy visits with my son and his wife, who have moved back to MA, and they close on their new condo in the western part of the state tomorrow! Now to get to the beach. Which one did you stay at?
We went to Falmouth!
No trips for me. I go to work and then I go to the bank, post office and grocery store to keep daily life running.
I’ve gone to the bookstore, comic book store and record shop but those have been pretty much in and out visits.
I don’t foresee any trips to happy place type destinations any time soon.
Bookstores are still happy places, Jay – but hoping you get to go somewhere you love soon.
Unfortunately the two trips we had planned extensively for over a year were both cancelled. Other than making a trip or two to the state north of us to visit with hubby’s Mom who is 91 and sister, we will be staying home. Even those trips are short and planned around keeping Mom safe. So thankful to live in the Ozark Mountains where we have many daily visitors and for the love of photography. We are enjoying our porch with fans running full force to enjoy both.

That’s too bad about your trips, Kay, but it is a blessing to live where you do!
I’m hoping to go to a beach close by in September for a few days. Love your pictures!
Thanks, Sherry!
We had 5 (count them, 5) trips planned for this summer. Mostly just weekends jaunts, but not all. None of them happened. So, we thoroughly enjoy our lovely yard, and take drives around beautiful Lancaster County, PA.
Your photography is wonderful, Liz.
Oh, thanks, Ginny! I’m glad you’re enjoying your yard and your drives.
Jealous. I haven’t made it to the beach myself this year. I’m not even sure if my beaches are open at all or not. (They keep changing.) I’ve got to make it at some point.
Yeah – I’m sorry Mark. I was having the same worry about the beaches. I hope you make it!
Lovely photos. I’m planning on staying with my sister for two weeks (up near Buffalo) after I drop my son off at college. I’m hoping we get some time at the beach on Lake Erie.
Thanks Liz! I hope you enjoy your trip.
We did take a trip to NH. Although it was for my grandmother’s funeral, it was nice to see family for a few days.
I’m so sorry about your grandmother, Amanda.
No trips, but going vicariously through others’ posts and beautiful pictures. Always happy to hear that social distancing prevailed – stay safe everyone!
You too!
