Happy New Year of Reading Ahead!

Happy New Year from all the Wickeds! We wish you a fabulous year with lots of great books to read and time to read them! Below is a recipe for a classic daiquiri and a mocktail daiquiri!

To make a mocktail substitute two ounces of sparkling lime-flavored water for the rum. It’s refreshing!

Readers: What is going to be your first read of the New Year?

29 Thoughts

  1. One of Terri Blackstock’s older novels, Truth Stained Lies. For non-fiction, re-reading Steven Pressfield’s The War of Art. Happy New Year!

  2. I just finished Katie Oliver’s book Pride, Prejudice, and Peril and have started Laura Bradford’s book A Plus One for Murder. Last week I read the newest Ann Patchett book, These Precious Days, on ebook from our library and she had an essay in the book about Kate DiCamillo (children’s author) that was really good. Ann recommended Kate’s books: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Raymie Nightingale, Louisiana’s Way Home and Beverly, Right Here. I read the Edward Tulane book and the Raymie Nightingale one and now am reading Louisiana’s Way Home. Kate DiCamillo’s books break my heart and gently mend it again…really great writing and I highly recommend them for the children in your life and adult readers, too.

  3. Hope everyone has a great New Year’s Eve! I’m reading Ellery Adam’s The Secret, Book & Scone Society right now and lots of others in the queue.

  4. Need to finish Deborah Crombie’s Water Like a Stone. Then I plan to move on to Kaitlyn Dunnett’s The Corpse Wore Tartan. Happy New Year, everyone.

  5. Since I can’t count an advance copy of the new C.J. Box thriller SHADOWS REEL (due March 8th) as the first book I’ll read in the new year as I’m done reading it, I had planned on reading DARK NIGHT by Paige Shelton.

It’s the 3rd book in her excellent Alaska Wild series. But I got a surprise in the mail yesterday…a signed advance copy of BATTER OFF DEAD, the 10th book in the absolutely awesome Country Store mystery series! So I will be reading that upcoming new Maddie Day novel as my first book of 2022!

  6. I received so many great books for Christmas that I will just have to put in my thumb and see what plum I pull out! Happy New Year to all the Wickeds!!

  7. A Calculated Whisk by Victoria Hamilton. I do have your newest book in my TBR pile. Happy New Year!
