By Liz, feeling like fall is really here!
I’m definitely a summer/warm weather girl, but fall is right up there on my list of favorite seasons. So while I always hate to say goodbye to summer, I figured I would embrace the beginning of fall by recognizing everything I appreciate and look forward to about the season. So here goes!

I love cozy socks, sweatshirts and scarves. There’s no arguing that sweater weather brings lots of opportunities to shop. And I do love to be comfy, so that means lots of great outfit choices, so that’s definitely a pro.
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love everything about October and Halloween season. I love haunted houses, scary movies, costumes, all of it – I can’t get enough.
Keeping the windows open all day and night. The air is just cool enough, and smells so fresh!
Watching Gilmore Girls reruns. Let’s be honest, I do this all year round, but there’s something about the fall that feels so perfect to watch this show. Feels like I’m visiting old friends.
It’s the perfect season to curl up at night with tea and a good book. Right? There’s just something about fall that makes this the activity of choice.
Readers, what’s your favorite thing about fall? Tell us in the comments!
We don’t have fall here in Southwestern Florida, it’s still in the 90’s. I do enjoy the pumpkin spice lattes, iced of course and other pumpkin spiced products. Love the poptarts. I still have my fleece clothes for when we visit family in NH/MA and warm knee socks.

The coming of the fall season means Thanksgiving dinner is just around the corner, and I do love me a nice big helping (or two) of turkey, taters and other tasty treats.

Let’s not rush past Halloween though, Jay 😉

Cider donuts and crisp air, plus the sunsets are somehow longer and more beautiful at this time of year.

I agree with your list, Liz, especially the Halloween part! I’d add the incredible colors of the leaves changing, plus nighttime fires in our firepit out back.

I love that, Kathy – I would love a firepit.

Color! I live in the beautiful Finger Lakes of upstate New York, where fall turns the lake water to sparkling sapphire and the trees to brilliant yellows, oranges, and reds. It doesn’t get any better!

Yes, the colors are amazing!

Most definitely the cooler weather! I’m not a summer person due to the heat. We live on the north shore of Lake Erie and we get incredible winds at this time of year which helps the cooler temperatures circulate throughout the house. Every door has to have a strong doorstop so that the doors aren’t constantly slamming.

It must be lovely there, Sandra.

Love the way things seem to slow down (yard and garden work don’t take up as much time) and we seem to stop to notice things around us and the beauty there in (like the changing of the leaves). It’s being able to sit out on the porch without a zillion fans on or dripping in sweat to do so. It is also the time when foods that we associate with the season start to show up and they take you back to happy memories.

This is my favorite time of the year. The humidity is down, most of the mosquitos are gone, I’m short, the perfect conditions to take it easy outdoors. The colorful foliage is pretty fantastic, too!

I love fall, especially early to mid fall. The temperatures are just right: high 40s/low 50s in the morning going up to 70 during the day. I love sweaters and comfy clothes. I used to love boots until my feet stopped liking shoes in general. I love the colors, the dry smell of fall air, the windows open, wood smoke from an evening fire, cider (mulled and cold), pumpkin pie and it being cool enough to make my yummy chicken and dumplings soup (the only creamy soup I really get in to).

I love the cool, crisp fall weather. Perfect for long walks followed by a cup of tea or hot chocolate! I also love to see the leaves put on a burst of fall color before dropping off for the monochromatic winter hue.

Since fall here means wind/fire season, I have come to hate fall more and more each year. Sorry. 😦

I love the open windows and cool, crisp, fresh air. I also love my Thanksgiving turkey. I used to love Halloween, but not so much anymore. I love the change in seasons with all of the leaf colors, though I don’t like the bare trees of winter. Hot oolong tea and a good cozy and Hallmark Mysteries and Movies only add to the wonderfulness of the time of year. And my dog loves it.

I agree with a lot of what you said. I live in Northern CA so I am always happy to see the start of Fall weather. I can never get enough of Gilmore Girls, sweater/jeans/comfy socks/tennis shoes, and hot tea. My favorite holiday is Halloween! This year Fall means becoming a grandma for the first time! My grandson is due any day now!!
