Edith/Maddie: I voted early at my town hall a week ago!
True story: my Hugh’s father Roy, age 91, was failing in the fall of 2008, but he was determined to cast his vote for the president of his choice. The minute he received his requested New Jersey absentee ballot in September, he filled it out and returned it. He died before Election Day, but his vote counted. Voting is the bedrock of democracy.

I like to vote on election day in person. The first few times I voted as a teen I would go with my parents so that they could show me the ropes.

Because I live in Switzerland, I vote for the US candidates by email, and I was able to submit my ballot almost a month ago. I feel exceptionally lucky that as a dual US/Swiss citizen, I get to vote in two countries. Sherry, that’s a moving article you attached, showing how one excluded group after another got voting rights (until 2013, at least, when the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act).

I got my ballot in the mail and returned it last week to the town clerk.
Not only can I say that “I VOTED” but I voted for freedom over tyranny.
Let’s hope people follow my example.

We voted the second day after early voting opened. The first day I was running the highway for doctor appointments. With the downpouring of rain we are getting today, I’m sure glad I voted on a nice sunny day. 🙂

I will vote at the polls today as I have every election since 1989. We were in the military for over 20 years and voted absentee for all that time, so I feel it’s important to actually go to the polls and vote – it makes me feel more a part of the process.

Kitty, having recently moved back to Massachusetts, my son John David voted in person this morning for the first time in many years, and his Puerto Rican wife Alex voted for president for the first time!

Filled out my double-sided two page ballot two weeks ago and dropped it off at the election center. Got the message 10 days ago that it was received, verified and counted!

My wife and I voted by mail on the day we received the ballots about 3 weeks ago. We then took them and deposited them in the secure box at our library. JOY! Luis at ole dot travel

We filled out our ballots the day we received them and took them to the PO. We received confirmation that they were received.
