Jessie: Wishing there was not a nip in the air, especially in the evenings!

Even though the calendar says there is still just over a week until the autumnal equinox, around here it feels like summer is already becoming just a memory. So, I thought I would share a few photos of some of my favorite memories from the season with you before the busyness of autumn comes to call.

Pier in Old Orchard Beach, ME

Readers, do you have a favorite summer memory? Leave a comment for a chance to win one of two paperback copies of Murder Flies the Coop!
Flying to AZ to visit our daughter for a week and traveling around the state with her. Just being in the beautiful outdoors of Lancaster County, PA. I absolutely love summer! ❤️
How lovely that you had time with your daughter!
Love OOB Pier and I have a Rose of Sharon flower blooming in the middle of my yellow roses. I had to look twice before I realized what it was. My grands think that it’s really cool as they say!
I love hearing from other OOB fans! And I love yellow roses too!
Reading outside in the shade, cool drink at my side – and walking on the beach, of course!
That all sounds delightful!
My annual trip to New Mexico in June. Morning walks with my hubby while he was off work. And getting to ride a horse on the Gettysburg battlefield just a couple of weeks ago. It’s been a great summer.
It sounds like it!
Old Orchard Beach! I went there with my parents and two of my siblings when I was 8. I have a picture of me on the merry-go-round. Flash forward 30+ years when my daughter was about 4. We have a picture of her on the same merry-go-round, same pose. Good memories!
So many people have fond memories of Old Orchard! What a charming one yours is!
Love to revisit Maine and New Hampshire. My father side is from New England. I love merry go round, but I have a bad memory of being left alone and lost when I was only five.
That sounds terrifying! I hope you have a chance to visit again one day!
My summers are pretty quiet, but I love baseball season and farmers market trips and finds.

Ahh! Farmers markets! There is nothing like that!
My favorite summer memory has to be when two long-distance friends came to visit for a few days. We had a great time together.
That sounds lovely! Summers are filled with friends for me too most years and it is one of my favorite parts of the season.
The launch of HEAVEN HAS NO RAGE in August. Going to see my sister and my baby nephew last July.
My family had a blast at Writer’s Police Academy. Seeing the Wickeds in OOB for our annual retreat is always so much fun too.
My favorite summer memory is our bucket list trip to several national parks. We were blessed to see the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier, Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. During that trip, and besides seeing all of nature in its glory, I got the most excited getting to photograph grizzly and black bears. One time a black bear walked right by our car. If I had my window down, I could have rubbed my hand on his back. Nope not that stupid! 🙂 I was however snapping photos. At one point, hubby who is an excellent photographer and has been teaching me, tapped my shoulder and said “Breathe”. I hadn’t realized that I was holding my breathe. Talk about an adrenaline rush! Can’t wait for more adventures like that!
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win a copy of “Murder Flies the Coop”!

We planted a butterfly garden this year and have had fun watching all of the butterflies. We’ve even had some Monarch caterpillars
How wonderful! I love butterfly gardens! I have a butterfly bush and it flings seed around the garden so I never know where a new bush will grow!
Love the pictures! What a happy place OOB is!
I am glad you agree!
It has been a very quiet summer, which was nice for a change. We got a lot of rain and not much grew in our garden. In years past we would get one hummingbird at our feeder. But this year we got four different ones. Two different kinds and one that came from BC. Black Chinned Hummingbirds. They are expanding their territory. They used to only be seen on the west coast. Woohoo. That was exciting.Oh and our daughter in CA has a man in her life now that she would happily do ever after with. She is 32 and has waited for the Mr Right. We couldnt be more excited for her.
Hummingbirds and love birds! What a lovely summer!
Summers in Maine when I was a kid.
I love to hear this! I hope my own kids will say the same someday!
Working. I spent a lot of the summer working. I was officially hired at my job the day after Memorial Day (I’d been temping for the 9 months before that), so I have no vacation time.
However, I did run the Camp Pendleton Mud Run for the 10th year in a row. That’s something something I really enjoyed this summer.
Huzzah for new jobs! And for muddy runs!
My summer memory was when we visited the Flight 93 Memorial.
I am sure that experience was very moving and very memorable!
My kids playing Little League baseball and going to Boy Scout summer camp. Now it’s just too hot for me to do much outdoor stuff.
Memories of time with my kids are always amongst my most treasured too!
My favorite summer memory is eating a burrito at the beach on my birthday. My Sister and I do it every year.
That sounds like a fun tradition!
Celebrating my birthday, the annual town festival, and backyard grilling with friends.

All of those sound just lovely!
We had an especially fun birthday party at a local park for my one year old grandson. Legallyblonde1961@yahoo.com
Little one’s birthdays are so special!
I used to love sitting out on the porch with my dad in the summer listening to the thunderstorms.
That sounds like a memory to cherish!
I love seeing the tomatoes ripen and my flowers bloom.
Garden fresh tomatoes! Delicious!
As a kid, I rode horses and competed in horse shows, in the summer I got to do a lot more riding since I wasn’t in school. Now, I race sailboats in the summer
My summer memories are about the vacations we took to Santa Cruz, CA every August!
