The Wicked Authors held their 2023 retreat last weekend at the Quaker Retreat House on Cape Cod where Edith does her solo retreats. A good and productive time was had by all. We wrote, we ate, we drank, we did some bloggy business, and we talked and talked and talked about the craft of writing, the publishing industry, our career ambitions, and what we want to write next.
And, of course, we talked about the blog. Look for some exciting updates and additions starting late this summer.
There are photos and captions below and a giveaway for one lucky commenter at the end.

Readers: What are some updates, additions, and changes you’d like to see on the Wicked Authors blog? Comment to win a map of fictional Busman’s Harbor, Maine and the two most recent Clambake Mysteries.

Thanks for sharing photos from your business retreat. I like what you’ve done with the blog. Looking forward to your changes – hopefully not drastic.
I think we’re going for enhancements, Dru, not anything drastic!
Cool
Congrats on 10 years. I love the blog. Can’t wait to see what’s coming.
I like the blog just as it is.
Thank you, Kim.
Geez, I can’t think of any changes that could be made! I like to read the interviews with other authors, because it helps me to find new books, and I like to read about your adventures. And, of course, the giveaways lol!
Glad we can introduce you to new folks, Kathy.
How can you fix perfection? Seriously if it’s not broke – don’t fix it. Love everything you do to bring us fabulous books, allowing us to get to know you all a bit better and even fun contest where we can win awesome prizes. Keep doing what you do so well! <3

Thanks so much, Kay.
Looks like a great gathering – glad the blog is going STRONG!
Thanks so much, Jule.
What a great location! I love the blog as it is. My only suggestion would be more group posts. I love the round-robin view.
Interesting suggestion. Thanks, Kait.
I enjoy reading the blog and seeing the photos you often include that set the tone and mood of the stories. Particularly enjoy reading how you all work at your craft, do your onsite research and retreat from the world to write. Keep doing what you’re doing – it’s great!
Thank you so much, Sharon.
What a wonderful location. Thanks for sharing the pictures and looking forward to new blog features!
Thank you, Liz. I hope you like them!
I like the blog as it is, too. I can’t think of anything to improve it. I enjoy the adventures you ladies have. And the giveaways.
Thank you, Violet.
How exciting!!! Who said that work could not be fun? Friends, you deserve every bit of celebrating! I celebrate you in my mind every day when I am traveling in your worlds and trying to solve your mysteries! Y’all do know how to put on a delicious spread! Your charcuterie delicacies look awesome! Your photos made me long for the East Coast, where I lived for about 3 years, and I still remember the green and the water…somehow the snow is never present 🙂 If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I love your blog, and can’t offer any ideas for changes. Stay Calm, and Keep Entertaining us! (I have the map, so please do send it to another lucky reader) luis at ole dot travel
Stay Calm, and Keep Entertaining us!
Great motto.
That’s hard, I like it how it is now. Getting the “behind-the-scenes” of your current inspiration, research, and writing. Being introduced to new authors I may not have otherwise found. Maybe if anything, a recipe now and then, since some of you have books that include them. Or otherwise facts, history, crafts, something pertaining to the book’s theme?
All of these are excellent suggestions, Alicia.
Heres to another 10yrs of this excellent informative blog
Thank you so much!
Wonderful photos and extraordinary blog filled with great features. Love everything there. Enjoy every visit.
Thanks for being part of our blog!
I don’t know if I would change anything about your blog. I enjoy it immensely just as it is now! On another topic, I did not know that there was a map of the fictional Busman’s Harbor, and I would be VERY interested in seeing it! Is there a place where all of your readers can get a glimpse of it?
You might check Barb’s web site, Patti. https://barbararossauthor.com/map-of-busmans-harbor-maine/
I enjoy the blog as is but would love recipes and maybe more pictures. Really fun reading.
Recipes – great idea, Candy!
that looks like you all had a good time with lots of laughs.
You bet – we always do.
Looks like a fun time. I’m not sure what I would tweak about the blog, but I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve come up with. (And now you’ve given me suspense wondering what will happen next. It’s natural that you’re writers.)
(No need to enter me in the giveaway.)
You’re on to our diabolical scheme!
I love it the way it is. I enjoy learning of new (to me) authors, and the background of where your ideas come from. I’m not keen on the genre hopping, but that is just my personal opinion and I’m sure most readers love it. I also really enjoy all the pictures. They make me feel a part of the Wickeds family. I already have the wonderful map (stuck on the wall right next to me) and the books.
You are part of the Wickeds family!
I love the diversity of topics covered in the blog.
I guess, if I had to come up with a suggestion, I would say include games. Crossword puzzle, jigsaw, spot the differences are all fun.
Ooooh! That’s a great idea!
A very special site. Background of the books, travels, and interviews. A captivating blog that brings me enjoyment.
Thank you so much, Laini!
Thanks for sharing all the cool photos of your retreat. No major changes because I enjoy this blog, but a small change could be to have a recipe of the week spotlight. I am a foodie, so I love to try new recipes and food related ideas.
As a foodie-cozy author, I love the recipe idea. Hmm, keep your eyes out in August!
Happy 10th anniversary! I love your blog…it’s one of the few I try to read every day. I am looking forward to seeing what changes you are making…I hope nothing drastic! Thank you all for all the hours of enjoyment you all have given me from reading your books and your blog posts!
Thank you so much, Christi. No worries about drastic changes!
Looks like a beautiful place for a retreat. Looks like everyone one had a great time. I think the blog is good the way it is and I’m sure any changes or additions you make will be amazing. Congratulations on 10 years.
Thank you!
The name of your blog implies you read and giveaway any type of book but at least to me I think you stay with the mild kind. I think if that is the way you are going to stay then you need to change the name of your blog as I look for books with heat 3+ and up too.
Congrats on 10 years
Very interesting! Thanks for your input!
I love the blog the way it is. I so enjoy checking in daily. Of course, the giveaways are always fun. Congrats on 10 years! 🥳🎉
This sounds like you all had a great time!!! I love seeing the photos and that is a great part of the blog ❤️
I like when all the authors suggest books, bring up great topics and have fun
I love the blog just the way you have made it. I cannot think of anything that you wonderful ladies could do differently. Thank you so much for sharing your retreat. God bless you.
Looks like a peaceful place for a retreat.
It was!
Congratulations on 10 years! Here’s to many more!
Delightful! Thanks for sharing the photos and insights on your special retreat. It’s fun to do a bit of virtual travel. <3 Keep 'em coming.
