Happy Thanksgiving Eve! There are so many big things in life to be grateful for — family, friends, homes — but there are also little things that help us through our lives. What little thing are you thankful for? Is it something that makes your life easier or something that brings you joy?
Edith: I don’t drink much coffee, but I savor my two cups of dark French roast in the morning. Freshly ground, home dripped, with a splash of whole milk in it. And the travel mug I bring it in upstairs to my office so the brew stays warm until I finish drinking it. Sigh. Bliss. Thankful!
Liz: Edith, you opened the door for me to talk coffee! I love the Haitian blend I’ve been getting for my French press. It makes me want to get up in the morning. And Gilmore Girls. I’m thankful for a new season – what a treat for the holidays!

Barb: I’m thankful for things big and small. For little things, I’m thankful for the skylights a past owner installed in our bedroom. They bring in the light on these dark, dark days.
Jessie: I am thankful for my small appliances. I rely on my slow cooker, my rice steamer and my Kitchen Aid mixer daily to keep my family easily fed. I save so much time with them that I am able to use in other ways that I prefer, like writing books!
Sherry: Google. Yep, that is what I’m thankful for. Google answers so many questions every day. Words I don’t recognize, questionable articles posted on social media, research answers, how far is it from my house to wherever. It’s amazing how much information we have at our fingertips. Okay, and my DVR — a commercial free life is a good one.
Julie: I am grateful for Besame Red Velvet lipstick. It is the shade Agent Carter wears. Honestly, it has superpowers. When I feel a little blue, tired, or depressed I put it on and BAM. I’m back.
Readers: What little things help you through your day, or your life?
I’d have to give a nod to all the awesome coffee blends that are out at this time of year. A quiet get together squeezed in with my sister, niece, and nephew, and another planned with my cousins.
Enjoy your get togethers!
Like Edith, I am thankful for my morning coffee. My favorite is our local New Orleans Community Coffee.
Hi Annette! I love my morning coffee, too.
I work with one of my best friends and when I get stressed, I can go to her and vent.
Friends are so important.
I’m thankful that my 8 year old granddaughter gets to spend Thanksgiving with us this year! 🙂
That is wonderful!
She just told me to tell you that I’m thankful for books! 🙂
That is so sweet! I hope she likes books too!
I am thankful for every little and big thing in my life good or bad. The little thing I am most thankful for is not so little. My sweet and amazing 30 pound rescue dog Tyler is a blessing beyond compare. Also I am thankful for amazing authors like all of you! You will never know how finding cozies (thanks to a friend) saved my sanity when I thought I would not be able to read again! Thanks. Wishing you all a truly awesome Thanksgiving weekend!
Tyler is a lucky dog! I’m glad cozies helped you and you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too!
Talking to my sister every day helps me through my day, she is always there for me and my best friend. My cat, Ms. Mouser, always makes me smile and makes my day better.
I have a lovely sister too! Ms. Mouser — such a cute name!
We have a similar morning coffee ritual, Edith. But my blend is a sumatran blend called Kick Ass Coffee which is roasted near the Kicking Horse Pass in British Columbia. Freshly ground beans, cone drip brewed, and a stainless steal travel mug that keeps it hot until I finish drinking it.
I don’t drink coffee (I’m a tea girl) but this sounds tempting!
Thanks to all of you for sharing the small things you’re thankful for! Something small I’m thankful for are Lindt truffles. They might not seem like much, but even when I’m feeling stressed or down, they give me a few minutes of “ahhh”. Happy Thanksgiving!
Those are delicious! And who doesn’t need an “ahhh” moment?!
My husband has been gone for 13 years but I still feel he is watching out for me.
I feel loved and safe. Happy Thanksgiving.
That is lovely! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Tea in the morning is the little thing that makes life worth living…and I agree with Julie red lipstick always puts a smile back on my face…and this year… thank God… my Sister is doing the whole Thanksgiving Meal…so Happy Thanksgiving from me to you…

I love my morning tea too! Have a lovely day!
I’m thankful to be tucked into the guestroom at my daughter’s house, watching my two grandsons, even when they’re naughty little boys! And I’m thankful for cozy mysteries. They calm me down when the world seems to be falling around me.
Both are wonderful things to be thankful for!
I have to follow my morning routine or my entire day is thrown off it seems like. I start with my Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and proceed from there.
My husband has to have his Dunkin coffee too!
God, good coffee, cozy mysteries, and my wonderful husband get me through the day. I, too, have a little routine I try to follow, but it is much easier than the one I have when working. Tea is more of an evening beverage for me. So thankful for each of you cozy mystery writers!
Thank you so much Jeanie!
So many things big and small that I am thankful for! Something simple…my backpack. I take it everywhere and it holds just about everything I need…from my laptop, a pocket read, lip balm and lotion, my journal and the traveling-with-husband must have…granola bars.
A backpack is a great thing to be grateful for! I always borrow my daughters when I travel!
