Cover Reveal & Giveaway

Roseann Moss is the winner of this drawing! Thanks to all who entered!

I’m so excited that A Time to Swill is up for pre-order! It’s the second book in the Chloe Jackson Sea Glass Saloon mystery series. Here’s the cover:

Here’s the back cover copy:

Saloon owner Chloe Jackson is after a murderer with skeletons in the closet–and one on a boat.

BAD TO THE BONE

Chloe loves her new life pouring beers and mixing cocktails at the Sea Glass Saloon in the Florida Panhandle town of Emerald Cove. But on the job, the only exercise she gets is walking from one end of the bar to the other, so in the mornings she loves to run on the beach. On this morning’s foggy run, she spots a sailboat washed up on a sandbar. Hearing a cry, she climbs aboard the beached vessel to investigate and finds not only a mewling kitten–but a human skeleton in the cabin.

The skeleton is tied back to Chloe’s friend Ralph, whose wife disappeared on a sailboat with three other people twelve years ago. Believing his wife was lost at sea, Ralph remarried. Now he finds himself a murder suspect. Chloe is determined to find out who’s been up to some skulduggery, but her sleuthing will lead her into some rough waters and some bone-chilling revelations…

You can pre-order A Time to Swill or Absence of Alice from One More Page books in Arlington, Virginia. They also have signed copies of my books available!
Giveaway: I will give away a copy of From Beer to Eternity and an ARC of Absence of Alice to a reader who leaves a comment. What are you up to this weekend? I will announce the winner on this post on Monday.

105 Thoughts

  1. Nothing much, going to pick up my Christmas cards that I ordered a while ago from the local book store. Might buy a book or 2 while I am there. pgenest57(at)aol(dot)com

  2. This sounds like a fun series. My goal is to finish my Christmas shopping this weekend.

  3. After a week of doctor appointments (meaning trips to Little Rock which is 2 1/2 hours away) and a trip to the store to restock the pantry before threatened closures again (done rarely which means more work than just a quick run to the store), this senior citizen is ready to be content to stay at home, do some baking, reading a good book and if weather permits take a few photographs of our daily critter visitors. From the weather reports, all this may be done while watching it rain.

“A Time to Swill” sounds AWESOME and I can’t wait for the opportunity to read it. Great cover!

Thank you for the chance to win not one but two fabulous books! Shared and hoping to be the extremely fortunate one selected.

Have a great weekend whatever comes your way. Just remember to be safe, stay healthy and have a little adventure along the way – even if through the pages of a good book. <3

  6. Love the cover! I have a couple of errands to do today. Then it’s laundry time. It’s nice that I can read while I’m doing laundry.

  7. Congrats Sherry on your new books coming out! I am looking forward to reading them both. This weekend we are staying in and taking it easy. Sadly, two retired librarian friends of mine wrote this morning to say that they have COVID positive results in their families. Praying for them to all get healthy again and for a vaccine to happen soon.

  8. A skeleton in a closet! Wahoo! I wrote a post about that topic. lol I’ll definitely pre-order. Thanks for the heads-up.

  9. I am waiting for test results to see if I can be discharged from hospital after kidney stones operation.

  10. Hi, Wow, this book sounds very intriguing and the cover looks very intriguing also! Thank you so much for sharing about it! This weekend my husband , our pup and I are just going to take it easy, watch some movies on TV, water the garden and later on in the evening I will read. Have a Great weekend and stay safe.

  11. Was going to start with housecleaning but…….Sunshine is demanding I spend some cuddle time with her.

  12. Love the cover 😊. Thanks for the opportunity. I’m reading and binging old sitcoms. Eating way too much too. 🤷‍♀️

  13. Hi Sherry!
Oh my gosh! I love the book cover and it sounds so good! Congratulations on your new book!
I am working on a Tee-shirt quilt today.
Thank you for the chance to win this great book!
    Have a wonderful day!

  14. I think it is a little bit cruel to post this cover when the book’s release is 8 months away. How can you be so mean? LOL!

I loved the first book and will definitely be picking up Book 2.

As for this weekend, it started off with some crazy nightmare dreams while I slept.

Then I got the thrill of household chores (vacuuming, laundry, etc.). Next up will be a visit to the bank and then I’m off to pay a bill. Oh, and I can’t forget to stop by the record shop that my friend owns to pick up a couple of items.

After that, I’m coming home and I’m done for the weekend. I will be home and just focus on TV watching, book reading and listening to music which I’ll be writing reviews. Three new CD reviews already this past week and a host more to go before Dec. 25th.

  15. Getting the last outside winter preparation done. Then tea and book reading for me.

  16. Love the cover, Sherry! Hoping to finish stringing Christmas lights on my bushes before it gets too cold. I don’t plug them in until after Thanksgiving, but this gives me a head start.

  17. This cover is so cool! I love it! Sounds like a very interesting read! I am just going to relax this weekend. Raining here in PA. so perfect day for curling up with a cozy read! Thanks for the chance to win!

  18. I am hanging out with my mom and sister. We’re going to a few places but not much because of Covid-19. More like just riding around. Then, I am also finishing up a book I’m reading for a Cozy Mystery Club. The discussion on the book is next week. After that, on to more books.

  19. Great cover!

What am I up to? Got 15 pages left in my book. Want to put up my outside Christmas lights. Must write at least one review. Got an online author event at 1 and my church’s annual talent show (outdoors and social distanced) at 4. Got to run errands in there as well.

It’s like I’ve been working overtime all week and have to get all the stuff done I didn’t get done during the week today.

  20. Love the cover!

I’m on day nine of a 14 day self-quarantine after exposure to a covid-positive person at a very small in-person meeting (back to remote meetings only!). No symptoms so far, and another person in the room has tested negative, so I’m hopeful. My test results may come today.

I guess that’s enough excitement. In the meantime, I’m making excruciatingly slow progress on my first novel.

  21. The cover is great & the book sounds like one I’d love to read! As usual my weekend involves laundry, reading & knitting. Currently reading The Museum of Desire by Jonathan Kellerman & finishing a sweater for my daughter-in-law.

  22. First, Congratulations on this latest book! That is quite a memorable cover and I know it will reveal the cover background once I read the story. Which, by the way, I know will be fabulous as all other books you’ve written have been great!

I’m very limited physically now but I am attempting cooking dinner and baking some apples rather than making another apple pie this week. I did a little pen sketching today to figure out what I want to end up with for a sketch as a gift for a friend. I also made another wall hanging as a Christmas gift earlier today! But I still need to finish the back.

Thank you for the giveaway which would be awesome to win!

    Have a lovely Thanksgiving!

  23. I’m staying home watching tv and reading. I wish it was something interesting but we are trying to stay safe. I really like your book cover.

  24. I drove to Salem MA today so that my son could groom my doggie, Humpty Dumpty. Tomorrow I’m going to watch football. Congrats on your new book release.

  25. We set up our Christmas tree this weekend. I’ll decorate it tomorrow and the rest of the condo tomorrow. Otherwise, I’m knocking some of the little things off my To Do list.

  26. I’m taking the weekend off to “wallow”. I’m in assisted living and my Covid came back positive Thurs. No symptoms but I feel emotionally fatigued, particularily since I have 2 grandson who have it, too. Back to wallowing! WEAR YOUR MASKS, STAY HOME, SOCIAL DISTANCE – PLEASE.

  27. I did some Christmas shopping at my local bookstore yesterday and am finishing up a crocheted baby blanket for a co-worker. Grocery shopping tomorrow, and that’s about it. Congrats on the cover reveal – it looks wonderful! aut1063(at)gmail(dot)com

  28. We went to a friends house today. The biys watched the football game and the girls dispd our nails. We all drank wine and had snacks!

I lived the first book and am ready to read the next chapter in Chloe’s life!

  29. Today I did laundry, cleaned the bathrooms and did a grocery store run…. tomorrow I get to read! I’m so looking forward to it!

  30. Thanks for a chance at this awesome giveaway! I will be reading and watching movies!

  31. Can’t tell if my comment posted, so I’m here again!
